Our Fat Bike Fleet
Activities in Quebec City | From December to March, our fat bike activities take place from our office located at 112 rue Saint-Paul, just across from the Domaine Maizerets in Quebec City. The location is perfect to go to the Old Quebec, the Saint-Charles river linear park and the Limoilou district. Many cyclists also take advantage of this location to go to the Montmorency Falls.
Mobile fleet throughout Quebec | Our fleet of fat bikes is also mobile and can be moved anywhere in Quebec for events, schools or for customized activities.
A little history | Imagine! Émilie launched Tuque & bicycle experiences with 12 bikes in December 2020 and today, 3 years later, it is 5 times more of happiness on two wheels spread daily.
FAT BIKE 101
Where did it come from ? | The modern fat bike appeared in the mid 80’s, in Alaska, when a group of mountain bikers had the idea to create a 4 seasons bike to practice their sport. In the same period, it appeared in New Mexico where it was used to ride in the dunes. Thus, the fat bike allows to ride on snow and on sand.
The fat tires | The tires on a fat bike generally act as a suspension. Inflated to very low pressure, the tires absorb most of the shock for maximum comfort. The harder the ground, the harder the tires should be, the softer the ground, the softer the tires should be.
Besides the oversized tires, this type of bike is similar to any other bicycle.
